PT-141 (bremelanotide) — the evidence vs the marketing

PT-141 is interesting because it's genuinely approved (Vyleesi) for HSDD in premenopausal women, backed by the RECONNECT phase 3 trials — but the effect there was modest-and-significant, not dramatic. that's tier 1 for a specific group.

then the marketing stretches it to "libido for everyone," which the trials didn't study. same pattern as half the compounds here: real narrow approval, broad claims the evidence doesn't cover. worth reading the actual RECONNECT outcomes first.

the effect-size point matters. "significant in an RCT" and "dramatic" aren't synonyms, and the RECONNECT improvement was modest. the marketing rounds that way up.

same template as half the board: a real approval for a specific group, stretched to universal claims. reading the studied population first saves a lot of disappointment.
