First time reconstituting — can someone sanity-check my math?

ANAndy· 2 months ago

First time reconstituting and I'd love a sanity check before I trust my own math.

5mg vial, added 2ml of bac water. That's 2500mcg/ml, right? And a 250mcg dose would be 0.1ml = 10 units on a U-100 pin? Just want to confirm I'm not about to do something dumb.

Your math is right: 5mg = 5000mcg ÷ 2ml = 2500mcg/ml. Then 250mcg ÷ 2500 = 0.1ml = 10 units on a U-100.

The reconstitution calculator does exactly this if you want to double-check future ones. Note it's just the arithmetic — not a dosing recommendation.

The calculator saved me from a decimal error once. Use it every single time, even when you're sure.
